Below you'll find the official policies of United States carriers on shipping cremation ashes.
USPS is currently the only domestic carrier that will knowingly transport human or animal remains.
From usps.gov:
- Cremated Remains may only be shipped using Priority Mail Express® and Priority Mail Express International® service for shipping human or animal Cremated Remains domestically and internationally. Priority Mail Express comes with USPS Tracking®.
- US Postal Service is now requiring the use of Label 139 on all shipped Cremated Remains (both human and animal).
UPS & Fed Ex will not knowingly transport cremated remains.
Please note that these are the carrier's policies and I will always accept packages regardless of which carrier or service you ship with.
