Mailing Inclusions

Thank you for choosing Ashley Lozano Jewelry for your personalized keepsakes. If your item requires you to send cremation ashes, hair, fur or other inclusions, please follow the directions below. Alternatively, you may purchase a collection kit with prepaid return packaging here (domestic orders only).

DIRECTIONS FOR CREMATION JEWELRY:

  • Send 1/4 teaspoon cremation ash in any small container you feel comfortable with (examples: ziploc bag, lipgloss pot, medicine bottle, etc.) Please try to avoid overly large or fragile containers (plastic ramekins, glass bottles, items that can't be returned in 10x6 bubble mailers, etc.)
  • Seal that container inside two separate ziplock bags
  • Include your:
    • name and address INSIDE one of the ziploc bags or directly on the container (preferred). We ship to the address provided when your order was placed. The address you leave inside of the package is for the rare occurrence that customs or carriers need to identify the owner of the contents, such as the shipping label becoming damaged
    • order number - we have many customers with the same name and want to ensure everyone gets the correct order. Failure to provide your order number may result in delayed production. If you order from Etsy, your order number is 10 digits (not to be confused with the transaction number). If you order off my site, it is a 4 digit number with the letter D at the beginning.  

DIRECTIONS FOR HAIR/FUR JEWELRY:

  • Please send a pinch of hair in any container you are comfortable with (many use folded over aluminum foil). If you are able, please keep the hair gathered into a single lock.
  • Seal the foil, or container inside of two separate ziplock bags
  • Include your:
    • name and address INSIDE one of the ziploc bags or directly on the container (preferred). We ship to the address provided when your order was placed. The address you leave inside of the package is for the rare occurrence that customs or carriers need to identify the owner of the contents, such as the shipping label becoming damage
    • order number - we have many customers with the same name and want to ensure everyone gets the correct order. Failure to provide your order number may result in delayed production. If you order from Etsy, your order number is several numbers. If you order off my site, it is a 4 digit number with the letter D at the beginning.  

DIRECTIONS FOR PRESERVED FLOWER JEWELRY:

  • Send the dried flower in any foil, container, etc. you feel comfortable with. We will only crush the parts we need to work with and will return any overage in the container/condition you sent it. Please note if your container can not be returned inside of a 10x6x1 mailing envelope we may reach out to you to cover any shipping overages. The petals do not have to be flat, but they do need to be dried as they may mildew in the mail if they still contain moisture when packaged.
  • Include your:
    • name and address INSIDE one of the ziploc bags or directly on the container (preferred). We ship to the address provided when your order was placed. The address you leave inside of the package is for the rare occurrence that customs or carriers need to identify the owner of the contents, such as the shipping label becoming damaged

COLOR REQUESTS:

If you have opted in to add a color such as Opal or Shimmer, you MUST state what color you want. If you fail to advise us of your chosen colour, it may slow down the production of your order. 

MAILING THE INCLUSIONS:

I typically use a 10x6 yellow padded envelope to ship the container/bags, but you can ship in whatever packaging you feel comfortable with. Unless discussed otherwise, it will be returned in a 10x6 bubble mailer with your completed items.

  • Please ship USPS First class or higher to the following address. Note your tracking number for your own records.
  • Do NOT send a package to us without a tracking number if it can be avoided.
  • Be sure that the name of the person who placed the order (do not abbreviate it) and the order number is on the outside of the package so we are able to identify the order.
  • Should you feel more comfortable using Fed Ex/UPS/etc, please email me at ashley@ashleylozano.com for a studio address as only USPS can deliver to post office boxes.
  • You can read more here about each carrier's policy for shipping cremains (whether they allow it). For organization and security purposes, we do not open your package until it is time to start working with the inclusions.
  • Please do NOT send any requests for a change to your order inside of your package since we will not receive this request until very late.
  • Any size, color, requests need to be emailed to ashley@ashleylozano.com and I will do my best to accommodate your changes where I am able.

In the likely event of having leftover ashes/hair, you may choose whether you would like them returned to you with the finished product or scattered in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC... a place I am honored to call home. At my client's requests, I have taken ashes onto kayaking or hiking trips and respectfully scattered them among the beautiful scenery. If you would like for any remaining ash to be scattered, please indicate this in your package. Otherwise, any leftovers will be returned to you. *If your purchase contains cremation ashes, someone at the delivery address will need to sign for the package at the time of receipt. If USPS is unable to obtain a signature, their official policy is to leave a notification slip and hold the package at your local post office for you to pick up in person. If the package is not picked up in a timely manner (Usps.gov states 15 days), they may send the package back to me and you will be charged for us to reship your package. Please arrange to have someone available to sign for your signature tracked package, or to pick it up in a timely manner should you miss the attempted delivery. 

IMPORTANT: PLEASE FOLLOW ALONG HERE to confirm that I've received your package and to view your expected ship date. This is the fastest and easiest way to check on your order.
