These handmade silver and gold studs are great for a night out, or everyday wear. I hand cut and textured the squares from fine silver metal clay, then kiln fired them after refining. After tumbling clean, it was time to apply 24k gold using an ancient Korean gilding technique called Keum-Boo. I then domed the squares and soldered their posts on. After cleaning up the metal once more and work hardening it, I finished them by adding a heavy patina to make the gold pop. These domed earrings measure just shy of 10mm tall.
