This freeform hair keepsake ring is solid sterling silver with a rhodium plating. Rhodium is a commonly used metal (member of the platinum family) that increases the shine and scratch-resistance of your jewelry. The ring design is just over 11mm tall and is encrusted with over twenty high-quality cubic zirconias that have a brilliant sparkle. The band is just under 2mm wide. A handmade domed "stone" is carefully created around your lock of hair or animal fur. I layer and shape my handmade stones methodically for maximum magnification of the hair provided. You may choose your preferred background color in the comments box. I am also happy to offer custom colors or add-ins. Once I receive your package, if your hair is too light or dark for the background color you have chosen, you will be contacted before I start on your order. Examples of color combinations can be seen in the supporting photographs.
Love the idea but not the band? Most of my cremation items can be adapted to include hair and we love custom requests.
Please allow for slight variation from the photographs as hair/fur comes in many colors and textures which may alter the appearance of this ring.
In the PRIMARY photo, the following combination was used:
Color of hair: Golden brown
Additives: White shimmer background
The price of this item does NOT include a collection kit to retrieve your hair/fur. An automatic email will be sent to you after the purchase of this item containing instructions on sending your inclusions. If you prefer to receive a kit (complete with return domestic shipping label), one can be purchased separately from my shop here: https://www.ashleylozano.com/products/kit-fee?_pos=1&_sid=f041bb519&_ss=r
Please note your quoted turnaround time starts when I receive your package. Your order confirmation email will contain a link for confirming that I've received your package as well as an expected ship date.
Ashley Lozano is a self-taught silversmith specializing in highly personalized jewelry made from your pet's actual prints, cremations ashes, fingerprints, handwriting, baby footprints, sound waves, and more. She began creating jewelry in 2011 after looking for a necklace with her first born's name on it and failing to find anything she felt spoke for the overwhelming amount of love she had for him. Her first memorial cremation piece was created shortly after with her own father's ashes, whom she lost at an early age. Her work and techniques are ever-evolving as she aims to help her customer's embrace and champion over their grief, something she has struggled with for much of her life.
Ashley grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and relocated to North Carolina in her early twenties. She lives among the Blue Ridge Mountains- just outside of Asheville- with her two beautiful and wild sons and her woodworking Veteran husband. We look forward to working for you.
In the likely event that you have leftover hair or ash after creating your item, you can opt for me to scatter them locally in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC - a place I am honored to call home. At my client's requests, I have taken ashes onto kayaking or hiking trips and respectfully scattered them among the beautiful scenery. Please leave a note in your package to opt-in for this complimentary service. Otherwise, any leftover ash or hair will be returned with the finished product.
